Join us for an enlightening and informative look at why we should remember to thank trees for their historical contributions to humans.    Presented by Dan Simpson.

    Keep ground workers motivated and trained by giving them an industry credential. This will help companies verify, according to OSHA and ANSI Z133.1 guidelines, that they have given safety training to all your employees according to their job descriptions.

    It also helps to verify that employees understand basic safety concepts required to work on the ground during tree care operations, and are qualified to work as ground workers.

    Registration fee includes the TCA Ground Operations Specialist workbook. Sign-in begins at 8:30am. Appropriate attire and PPE needed. Inside and outside instruction.

    Come join us at The Stein Family Farm in National City for this hands-on demonstration and in the field practice to increase your skills and knowledge of deciduous fruit tree pruning.  This workshop requires your participation in pruning of these trees.      

    Workshop Leaders:  Kurt Peacock, Consulting Arborist, Dave Ephron, Arborist, One Tripp Tree Service and Tom Del Hotal, Arborist, Fantasia Gardens

    Program: 

    • We will meet at 8AM for coffee and light refreshments
    • A discussion of tools and their care/usage- Proper pruning techniques
    • Status and needs of deciduous fruit at the Stein Farm
    • A brief overview of the “must do” tasks and timing to insure best care for and results from your fruiting trees and shrubs. Included are fertilization, insect and disease identification and IPM
    • Hands on pruning of the trees at the farm until 2 PM

    What to bring Hand Pruners, Loppers, Handsaws and gloves. Field attire & shoes

    Registration includes: Lunch, refreshments, handouts and CEU hours arborist & tree worker.  Please indicate if you are a vegetarian for lunch preference
