March - Specifications and Moon Trees

Brad Brown, Registered Consulting Arborist and Board Certified Master Arborist, will talk about some of the challenges with writing and implementing pruning specifications for Tree Life Consulting. Focused on natural pruning systems, the presentation will explain how the 2017 pruning standard (ANSI) required consultants to draft new pruning specifications. Brad is excited to share what he learned; not only do the new standards help preserve trees, but they benefit tree workers and company owners.  

John Paynter, Certified Arborist and PTCA member will share the story of the “moon trees”. These were trees that were grown from seeds that went to space and orbited around the moon during the historic Apollo 14 flight. How did that event happen? Where are those trees now? Those are just a few of the details that John will share with us.
