Arbor Day of Service

  • 29 Mar 2019
  • 8:00 AM
  • Bethune K-8 School, 6835 Benjamin Holt Drive, San Diego, CA 92114

The PTCA Arbor Day work day will be Friday March 29th at Bethune K-8 school at 6835 Benjamin Holt Dr. San Diego 92114

40 Younger trees (<10 - 15 years old) need some corrective structural pruning to reestablish strong leaders, eliminate co-dominant stems and minor hazard reduction.  Kurt Peacock will be teaching structural pruning principles.

Without intervention now by PTCA professionals, many of these trees would likely be removed way before their time due to hazard or failure. School districts have only money for reactive rather than proactive tree care.

School will be on break but they will provide lunch for all participants as is the tradition.

We also have 2 small removals of dead/dying trees.

We need 8-12 Tree Workers/Arborists, 2-3 ground personnel, one chipper & dump truck and small stump grinder. One small boom truck would be nice to clear some debris & deadwood from a few pines.

Contact Kurt Peacock at 619.992.8508 to volunteer.
